Meet Parker Street Ministries’ Care Coordinator, Nicole Turner!

We’re thrilled to welcome back a familiar face to the team! Nicki is originally from South Carolina and has called Lakeland home since 2006. She holds a BSW and a Master’s in Human Services with a concentration in Children and Families, and brings experience from the fields of social work, marketing, and education.

Nicki’s journey with Parker Street Ministries began years ago as a Classroom Leader in the Academic Enrichment Program and later as the Volunteer Coordinator. She shares, “I’m excited to be rejoining the organization and the work they’re doing within the community.” One thing Nicki’s especially looking forward to? “Spending time with the families that live in this community.”

Parker Street has a special place in her heart. Nicki and her husband, Ben, actually met 16 years ago at PSM’s Summer Camp! Together, they’re raising three daughters—Zoe (12), and twins Maya and Sophia (9)—plus Eugene, an 8-month-old Australian Labradoodle who keeps things lively.

A few fun facts about Nicki:

  • A good day includes “being outside in nature in bearable weather.”
  • Her go-to Fresh Kitchen order? “Sweet potato noodles, cauliflower mash, and veggies.”
  • A guiding verse in her life is from Romans 5:5—“And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
  • She creates handmade jewelry and can play five instruments!

We’re so grateful for the full-circle story and the gifts Nicki brings to this work!
