Parker Street Ministries (PSM) will host its first-ever 24-hour livestream Telethon from 6:00 p.m. on May 7 to 6:00 p.m. on May 8, 2026, inviting the community to take part in a day of stories, worship, generosity, and community.
Marking 30 years of ministry in Lakeland’s Parker Street neighborhood, the Telethon will highlight the impact of PSM’s year-round programs while bringing together local churches, community partners, and supporters in a shared effort to invest in lasting change.
Viewers can tune in for free at psmlakeland.org/telethon where the livestream and program schedule will be available.
Throughout the 24 hours, segments will offer a unique glimpse into the work happening every day through Parker Street Ministries. Featured segments also include music by Christian recording artist Jonny Diaz, trivia with Lakeland’s current and three former mayors, a cooking segment with Nineteen61’s Chef Marcos Fernandez, a late night show, worship sets and messages from local churches, and stories from the neighborhood. Additional interviews, testimonies, and interactive moments will engage viewers of all ages and invite participation in real time.
Hosts for the event include Tim & Christy Mitchell, Wesley & Ashley Bell Barnett, Robbie Pearce, Howard Bayless, Sarah Bonner, Paola McGarvey, William Wainwright, Jaycee Harris, and Holland Henderson.
As part of the Telethon, the community is also invited to attend a ribbon cutting on Friday, May 8, at 9:00 a.m. for The George W. Jenkins Gathering Place at Parker Street Ministries. Located at 714 N Massachusetts Ave across the street from the main campus, this new space will serve as a hub for PSM and neighborhood events, and will become the home of the organization’s Housing team and Young Adult Program. The ribbon cutting through the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce will air live as part of the Telethon. View the event here! RSVP here!
“This Telethon is more than a fundraiser. It’s a chance to celebrate what God has done over the past 30 years and to invite others into what He is continuing to do,” said Tim Mitchell, Executive Director of Parker Street Ministries. “It’s about sharing stories, building relationships, and creating space for people to be part of something meaningful.”
Proceeds from the Telethon will support Parker Street Ministries’ operations and core initiatives, including academic enrichment for K-12 students, workforce development for high school students, resources for neighborhood families, and community-building efforts that strengthen relationships across the neighborhood.
As a nonprofit committed to Gospel-centered community development, Parker Street Ministries has served Lakeland for three decades with a focus on long-term, place-based investment. The Telethon reflects that same commitment, bringing people together to support work that continues far beyond a single day.
Community members are encouraged to watch, share, and participate. Opportunities to get involved include giving, volunteering, becoming a prayer partner, hosting a watch party, or partnering as a sponsor.
