Staff Spotlight – Meet Haley

Haley Nelson moved from Maryland to Florida in 2018 to attend Southeastern University where she completed both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Social Work. She began her PSM journey in 2022 as a Summer Camp Classroom Leader. Haley currently works with the fourth and fifth graders but started with the kindergarten class. She enjoys spending time with the kids, appreciates their no-filter honesty, and loves to hear about their weekends or what they did at school! Haley was recently given more responsibility becoming the Wellness team lead, focusing on emotional and physical health, healthy snacks, and keeping up with the calm down corners.

Life advice: “Mrs. Christina says a lot that your cup has to be filled to do this job. It’s very hard if you’re not spending time with God. If you don’t, there’s nothing to give others.”

What brings you joy? “Watching my friends celebrate different milestones and seasons. I love being there for them and watching them grow.”

Netflix binge show: Rewatching Outer Banks.

Favorite biblical lady: Mary of Bethany (Martha’s sis). “It’s easy to go around and serve and be everything to everybody, but sometimes you just need to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen, just like Mary.”

Must-have meal: Non-spicy chicken strips from LoveBird.

Favorite PSM memory: “My first Summer Splash!”
