Shout out to the Libertore Fund for Children for funding this summer’s first Cohort of the Future Workforce Program for our high school students. This eight week program, led by new Young Adult Director Arthur Southward, is a combination of soft job skills training, paid work experience at local nonprofits, Citrus Connection navigation training, financial skills-building, and career/education explorations. Successful students will exit the eight week program having gone through an application and evaluation process, completed the FDIC’s MoneySmart Curriculum, worked through one-half of the research-based Jobs for Life Powered for Life curriculum, opened a savings account, and built a $300 savings account that await’s the students graduation from high school.
